Palo Alto Ballet School Curriculum is based on Cuban National Ballet School
Pre-ballet –Ages 4-6. Learn space awareness, musicality and intro to basic ballet positions and steps.
Level I - Ages 7-8. Learn correct ballet positions and basic steps; emphasis on rhythm and musicality.
Level II - Ages 9 -10. Continuation on objectives of Level I, plus strengthening of legs and feet. Pointe work introduced.
Level III – Ages 10-12. Continuation of objectives of Level II with emphasis on pointe work and introduction of small variations. Students may be assigned to this level according to their skill level
Level IV – Ages 12+. Continuation of objectives of Level III with introduction of more complicated steps, beats and more complicated variations on pointe. Students may be assigned to this level according to their skill level.
Level V - Ages 15+. Continuation of objectives of Level IV with introduction of more complex variations from the classical repertoire. Steps not included in the Level V curriculum will be incorporated into the variations for correct execution.
Pre-professional - Level VI & VII - Continuation of objectives of Level V. At this level the students should have full control of pointe work and ability to execute variations from the classical repertoire.
*Pilates strengthening and conditioning classes are an integral part of program.
